Thomas was hired by the City of Santa Barbara in November 2005 as an Operator-In-Training at the El Estero WWTP. Thomas was promoted quickly through the ranks and became WWTP Chief Operator in April 2010. Thomas has held a Grade V certification since December 2009. Thomas is a phenomenal employee and who is held in high regard by his coworkers, supervision, and management, as a trusted member of the El Estero WWTP. Thomas makes valuable contributions to Operations on a daily basis. He is energized by all aspects of wastewater treatment especially those that contribute to the success of the El Estero WWTP team.
